​Derbyshire Gypsy Liaison Group provides valuable assistance and information to the Gypsy community in Derbyshire. DGLG also has a close relationship with local authorities and services DGLG work is not exclusively in Derbyshire. ​We work on national policy in relation to planning issues and Education Please also see the West Midland page for work that we have undertaken there.

  • Seeking and securing authorised stopping places and planning permission
  • Advising local authorities on site matters
  • Health care guidance
  • Members of the Derbyshire BME Links Forum Links CVS 
  • Supporting children in school and education
  • Welfare aid and housing guidance
  • Exhibitions, research, cultural history
  • Training for statutory bodies including the Police, Healthcare and Social Services
  • We work on national policy
  • Working with the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) working towards a national GRT (Gypsy Roma Traveller) strategy to improve the lack of sites
